It is the Soldier, not the minister
Who has given us freedom of religion.

It is the Soldier, not the reporter
Who has given us freedom of the press.

It is the Soldier, not the poet
Who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the Soldier, not the campus organizer
Who has given us freedom to protest.

It is the Soldier, not the lawyer
Who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is the Soldier, not the politician
Who has given us the right to vote.

It is the Soldier who salutes the flag,
Who serves beneath the flag,
And whose coffin is draped by the flag,
Who allows the protester to burn the flag.

Remember to thank a veteran on this day. I told dad thanks this morning and he told me to go to suki's birthday party since I missed all the good stuff while moving. So talk to you all later.

  8. Peanut Buddy!

Give your dad a big sloppy goober smooch from me & my girl when you get home from Suki's pawty! He deserves more than we can ever give him.

I have 2 WW2 vets who live on my block. They're my buddies. You'd never know they're in their eighties ~ I think they're healthier than my girl. I'll be giving them extra goober smooches on my walk tomorrow morning!

    Goober love & thanks,
    Stanley

  13. Hey Peanut, I'm so glad you are settled in. Don't worry about the small yard. I have no yard right now, because we are living in a loft, and it means big walks four times a day! There are some benefits to being yardless.
