Length of legs

Our friend Boo challenged every dog to measure their legs so we thought we would measure ours. So mom and dad couldn't get any good pictures of us while they were measuring but my legs alone (to my leg pit as mom calls it) are 21 inches or about 52 1/2 cms. And that doesn't include to my shoulder. If you go to my shoulder they are 27 inches.

Flash's on the other hand are 16 inches (40 1/2 cm) to the leg pit and 20 inches to the withers.

So there are our leg measurements.

I've also included some pictures I thought you might enjoy. The first one is when my dad put his shorts on my neck and the second is just me chillin out on the couch.

Some pictures

Mom turned in some film she had from years ago (these pictures are from 2001 which was Before peanut) and I thought I would share a few of them. She says she's amazed that they even turned out as they sat around our house in Germany then traveled from there to here and have sat around here.

The pictures are in Black and White The first two pictures are of Kiko, who've talked about before, and Gambler as a puppy. As you can see Gambler was a mini dachshund. Gambler came from a nice breeder and the family liked him lots but one day (when he was about a year old) he decided he was going to try and bite our girl as she walked by him (mom and dad were right there so they know nothing had gone on). Mom called up the breeder and they took him back and gave him to a nice older lady who he was perfect for. Everyone was sad to see him go but happy he could find someone to love him.

The next two pictures are of Dad and our kids. Our boy wasn't quite a year old in this picture. (only 4 days away) and Dad was helping him open some presents. Our girl would have been 3 days away from turning 6. It kind of looks like she has no head in that picture I think.

Mom says she loves these pictures and is going to get them blown up so she can hang them up on the wall.

And here is a picture of our boy playing in some dog food. Mom says pay no attention to the brand of food as that was before she knew so much about dog food. She would never feed that to any animal now.

Oh and we thought we would share this picture. This is our pappy when him and Grammie went to visit the family in Germany. Gambler is laying on top of him. haha Something happened to this roll of film but mom thought it was a funny picture anyway.

I am ignoring Flash now since he told you all about my water episode but hey that toy in that bowl was evil.

Our friends Gomer and Opie have reached their 10,000th visitor on their blog. Their dogmom has a way she is going to be donating money to some needy animals but you have to go read it for yourself since one of them is by number of visitors. The scoop on Peanut

Okay here is the funny story I promised the other day. Mom and Dad were laughing so hard that mom had trouble taking these pictures. This is one of our toys in the water dish. Mom was throwing it for Peanut (as I don't like it much) and it bounced into the water dish.

The next 2 pictures are of Peanut pushing the toy around in the water dish. He did this for what seems like forever. He would go up and push the toy around and then back off and then go push it around and then back off. See him with his legs all spread out that's his I'm not sure about this pose.


Here is me going in to get the toy out of the dish but mom and dad told me I couldn't.

Okay so this whole toy in the dish went on for 5 minutes with Peanut just pushing it around and not getting it out of there. I couldn't figure out what his problem was but I think the big weirdo is so afraid of water he couldn't even get his toy out of some. Geez. Mom and Dad were just laughing and laughing at him until mom felt bad enough that she went over and got the toy out for him. Then he wouldn't play with it until it dried off. hahahahaha It was just so funny. I mean he's huge and he's afraid to get his toy out of our inside water dish. I think he needs to see someone about this fear. It is obviously affecting his quality of life. harooo

Presents, new neighbors and memes

I got a present last week from my lovely girlfriend Penny. She this lovely card she made me? I'm not telling any of you what the inside said since it was just for me. I didn't even let Flash read it.

Here is me checking out the box.

We got lots of good stuff. In fact even the cats got toys. Mom says they like the little balls with the bell in them and Raven woke mom up the other night at 5 playing with one.
We got these cool bandannas. Mom wasn't sure we would wear them but we did. They are neat and she says we can save them for the 4th of July.

We also got Kongs. Now I have to say that I think my life has been severely deprived. These were our first Kongs and we love them. Even Flash who doesn't like toys to much is going crazy playing with the kong. Mom said something about frozen peanut butter in them but so far I haven't seen that happen. Then we got treats. Look at all that stuff. Those big long things were really really good. I think they are moo tubes. Well whatever they are I want mom to get me more of them. And there is a picture of me waiting patiently for my moo tube. See my tongue? haha


Now on to more news. We got new neighbors AND GUESS WHAT? They are boxers. Yep two girl brindle boxers have moved in next door. I am just so excited. Check them out. New friends for me and Flash WOO WOO. Oh but don't worry they will take the place of Penny or Ellie. They are just friends

New collars, slobber and Shelby

After seeing a few of our friends with nice collars from Snazzy-Petz mom decided to get us a couple also. They came today.
Here is mine. See the skull and crossbones? That's because I'm tough.
This one is Flash's. Mom says it is hard to find good boy collars but she liked the look of this one. She says Kathleen was very nice and made the collars super quick. Oh and when mom told her we found her through our fellow dog bloggers Kathleen said that us dog bloggers have been very good for her business. Mom is very impressed with the high quality of these collars and says we will be getting more.
Here is a picture of me with my collar on. I wouldn't stand still so it's not very good. Mom couldn't get one of Flash at all.

I thought I would show you this picture of me Mom took the other day with a huge string of slobber on my nose. Yep that's my slobber. I'd been outside playing.

Oh and just so you all know. Shelby is fine. He has a urinary tract infection (but no crystals whatever those are) Enjoy the picture of him in a bag. He likes to go in those things for some reason. Other then that not much going on here at all.

Going Cross Country

Hey Flash here. I get to tell you about me and Peanut get to take a cross country trip. Mom and Dad have decided that before going to Louisiana that they are going to go home to Oregon since Dad hasn't been there in 6 1/2 years and Mom hasn't been there in 4. So Mom says it will be a long trip but they I think it's worth it. We get to see Grammie and Pappy and all the aunt and uncle dogs and also our Grandma Careen(she's dad's mom) and her dogs. We are going to stay with our Grandma Careen since our human Auntie is staying with Grammie and Pappy.

Then we have to visit and then drive down to Louisiana. Hopefully we can handle it. What do you all think.

Oh and we were informed of Raven's attempt to help Jessica Rabbit in her plot against King Simba. Just so you know we are keeping a sharp eye on her. We won't allow her to do anything.

Look what came in the mail

Hey look I got a package. It was from the lovely Ellie

Here is Dad helping us open it.

Here we are trying to inspect the stuff put in there for mom. She got some flavored olive oil, some Parmesan blend dipper stuff and some bruschetta stuff. She says yummy. I don't care about all that so I wouldn't let her put a picture of it up.

Here is a picture of some of our stuff. We got some treats and mom has given us some of them but not nearly enough and we got a stuffed porcupine (at least that is what I think it is) I heard my girl says it looks like a hedgehog. and stuffed monkey that makes actual monkey noises.
Well mom decided she would try and let us play with them and YOU KNOW WHAT? We didn't fight over them. The porcupine-hedgehog is already dead. I killed it within 5 minutes. Look at my handy work.

I did that to both of his arms. hahaha I am happy to say the monkey is still alive though he has lost a couple of squeakers.

On a much sadder note. We have found out the unit dad will be going to is deploying some time before the end of the year. So mom told us to be prepared for him to go also. I have to say that moving and then losing dad so soon after is going to really upset and mom should be expecting for be to be bad though I will try and be good. I just don't do change well. I am going to have to find a substitute dad (who will never take the place of my dad of course) to play with me while mine is gone. Mom just doesn't play rough enough.

Going to eat me some Gumbo

Yep that's right in October I will be in Louisiana eating me some gumbo. Do you think my belly will handle it?
Okay but seriously Dad was informed today his next duty station will be Fort Polk Louisiana and we have to be there in October..
Mom isn't so sure about it but she is going to try to look on the bright side (it isn't Ft. Hood Texas hahahaha) Mom and Dad were hoping for somewhere closer to Oregon but that didn't happen.
So mom said I need to ask some advice for a kennel that will fold down and fit in the car (either in the trunk or in the jeep) as I can not be trusted anywhere with no people. She also said to remind you that I am a big boy so I need a big one. Also if anyone has those luggage things (either hard or soft) that go on the top of the car and you like yours please let us know the brand. Once again mom will stress on finding us some place to live that will let us all stay and traveling with all of us. The woman needs to learn how to relax.

Playing with Daddy

No Flash today

Yes I know today is Flash Friday but since he wanted to come and try to make fun of me the other day I am not letting him post today.

Just so you all know my kennel was cleaned out because of him. Yep he decided to pee in his kennel (and not ring the bell to go outside) so mom and dad decided to clean both of our kennels. He probably did it just to watch me freak out. He's mean that way.

Oh and just to get back at him here is a picture of him in his kennel and what mom and dad found under his blankets. Look at all that trash he was hiding.

Mom and Dad and the kids went to the zoo yesterday. Mom forgot the camera but they got to see Scotty. Plus a baby pygmy hippo among other things. They had fun and our boy came back with this long stuffed snake. I would like to for a toy but that would just get me in trouble. They didn't make it to the water park today though because there was thunder and rain. So they were home with us. WOO WOO.

Well that's about it from here for now.

Peanut

hahaha (it's Flash)

Okay so peanut couldn't post yesterday or today because he is still traumatized. See the nice picture of Dad cleaning out Peanut's kennel? He just freaks whenever it gets cleaned and it takes him forever to recover.

Mom and Dad stayed home with us Monday and Tuesday so we got to play outside and didn't have to be in our kennels. Which was great of course. Today they went to the water park for 3 hours and tomorrow they are going to the zoo. :(
Here is this lovely picture of Raven. Can you even see her? She is that black spot between the cabinet and the microwave. There were people pressure washing the outside of our house today and it totally freaked her out and she stayed up there for quite awhile. I don't know how she fit herself in there.

Here is our boy learning how to ride his bike without training wheels. Mom says it is going slow but he will get it.

And this last picture is me. I am so fast that all mom can get with the camera is a blur. Pretty cool huh?

Hello to my lovely girl Lady Kaos. Glad to hear you mom's surgery went well and she is home recovering. Take good care of her.
Peanut the big baby might be back tomorrow. Who knows.

Happy Birthday Grammie

It's our Grammie's birthday today. For those of you who don't know Grammie is our mom's mom (though they look so much alike you might think they were twins hahaha). That's grammie up in the dinosaur head two summers ago when she and Pappy came to visit us.

I think Grammie is about 956 years old since mom is about 459. I can never tell with these humans. Oh mom just yelled at me she said Grammie is only 56 and she is only 31. Well how am I supposed to know? Geez. Anyway even though we are a little mad at grammie for forking over the cash that gets us locked in our kennels we do love her and without her we wouldn't have mom. Plus she sends us treats her dogs don't eat and that pappy thinks make the dogs breath smell to bad. Plus grammie has a soft spot for animals and love us even though when she is here we annoy her because we don't like to listen and leave her alone. So this post is to say Happy Birthday Grammie. We love you. Oh and we thought you might like this alien card. :)

We hate Summer

Well we thought it would be so nice to have our kids home for the summer. They could play with us and play with us but you know so far it isn't so good.
The only good thing is we have been able to go outside more when the kids are on the trampoline. Now to the bad stuff
We blame Grammie for this one (though we still love you grammie). There is a water park here on post. Well our kids wanted a season pass so our girl asked grammie for the money. Grammie was nice enough to cough up the dough. So they have been at the water park and when they go to the water park, we have to go in our kennels. That is no fun. Plus mom says they will be there a lot this summer as long as the weather is good. So it looks like we will be spending lots of time in our kennels.
Oh and the summer means BBQs too. Yesterday was a birthday party BBQ down the street. The whole family was gone for 4 hours. I tell you I am not used to being locked up so much since mom is usually always home. I liked it better when mom and dad had no friends and hardly ever left me.
That's all the news from here. Dad goes on leave tonight so he'll be off work for a couple weeks. Hopefully we can get him to play with us a ton.
