Friday
Hey it's Friday so it's me the Flash man. Mom lost the cable to her camera so we can't download anything. She says it's somewhere in the house and since she just cleaned she probably put it somewhere weird.
We had pictures of the lovely treats we got from Grammie and also the present we got from Miss Sunshade. We were so excited since both packages were total surprises. I will make her look for the cable so we can get the pictures up.
Our kids got a ton of stuff for Christmas and were very happy. Mom got a couple of presents from the kids and money from Grammie and pappy.
We don't know if you all got to see the comment our dad put on our last post but here it is
"Thanks for all the good thoughts and support and have a happy Christmas and a merry new year
Peanuts Dad"
Dad says he is doing as well as possible. He's called a couple times since he left and gets to email more often. So he's staying in touch with the kids and mom.
Not much else is new here.

Cookies
Hey everybody it's me Peanut. That stupid cat is still in the house though I told mom he needs to be gotten rid of for lying on my blog. She didn't go for it and said I just need to learn to leave him alone.
First off we want to say a big THANK YOU to Dory and her mom Liza. We got a surprise box in the mail a few days ago. It contained cookies and the candy of Boston. Some for the humans and some for me and Flash. The kids love the Boston baked beans. We all loved the cookies. Liza and Dory also sent peanut brittle to our dad. He told us last night that he got it yesterday and to say THANK YOU. He loves peanut brittle
.
Speaking of dad. He says he's gotten lots of cards from our buddies. He might get around to sending us a list of who he has received them from but he's pretty busy so we just wanted to thank everyone who sent him one. He enjoys getting them.
Also sorry I haven't been posting. Mom has been tired lately and less willing to help me. She says it's because we popped her bed and she has to sleep on the couch now so she doesn't sleep as well especially since I feel the need to sleep on her legs when I have a perfectly good love seat to sleep on. I told her if she wouldn't have thrown away her mattress before she moved she wouldn't be having this problem. Turns out since she bought her bed in Germany the mattress is an odd size and you can't just go the store and buy a mattress to fit the bed. She didn't find this out until after she threw away the mattress though. So now she is saving up for either a new mattress which has to be custom made or a new bed and regular size mattress. She had a blow up mattress but it got a hole in it. She can't find the hole to patch it and she said she isn't buying a new one just so it can get another hole in it. So it's the couches for us for now. I do like to get up on her couch once she's asleep and lay on her legs though. Then she wakes up and kicks me off. I wait until she's asleep again and then climb back up there. Fun times I tell you.
We hope everyone has a Merry Christmas. See you all after Christmas

It's Friday
and you know what that means. Yep it is me Flash. Just to let you all know. Peanut is fine. We don't know why Shelby decided to blog and tell you all he had done away with Peanut. We figure that it is his Christmas wish since he really really really really hates Peanut. Not that Peanut wouldn't annoy me if he barked at me all the time like he does Shelby.
For today we thought we would share this. We don't know the author but really like it.
Here in this House....
*
I will never know the loneliness I hear in the barks of the other dogs 'out there'.
I can sleep soundly, assured that when I wake my world will not have changed.
I will never know hunger, or the fear of not knowing if I'll eat.
I will not shiver in the cold, or grow weary from the heat.
I will feel the sun's heat, and the rain's coolness, and be allowed to smell all that can reach my nose.
My fur will shine, and never be dirty or matted.
Here in this house...
There will be an effort to communicate with me on my level.
I will be talked to and, even if I don't understand,
I can enjoy the warmth of the words.
I will be given a name so that I may know who I am among many.
My name will be used in joy, and I will love the sound of it!
Here in this house...
I will never be a substitute for anything I am not.
I will never be used to improve peoples' images of themselves.
I will be loved because I am who I am, not someone's idea of who I should
be.
I will never suffer for someone's anger, impatience, or stupidity.
I will be taught all the things I need to know to be loved by all.
If I do not learn my lessons well, they will look to my teacher for blame.
Here in this house...
I can trust arms that hold, hands that touch...
knowing that, no matter what they do, they do it for the good of me;
If I am ill, I will be doctored.
If scared, I will be calmed.
If sad, I will be cheered.
No matter what I look like, I will be considered beautiful and thought to be
of value.
I will never be cast out because I am too old, too ill, too unruly, or not
cute enough.
My life is a responsibility, and not an afterthought.
I will learn that humans can almost, sometimes, be as kind and as fair as
dogs.

Here in this house...
I will belong.
I will be home. *

Hello there
Hello all. It is I, Shelby the cat. I have finally done away with that big stupid dog that barks at me all the time and thought I would take over his blog. I need a way to express myself and the fact that I am stuck in this house and that human woman and little humans won't let me go outside.
It is hard being a cat. Especially one as handsome as I. There is all the grooming and the beauty sleep and of course eating to keep my fine shape. Life is tough I tell you.
Then of course I have to put up with things like this
There I was sleeping on the arm of the couch when the little boy human threw a blanket on me.
I'm a CAT. I have a fur coat. I do not need a blanket. The indignity of it was just amazing.
But you should all enjoy the sight of me. Gaze at me in all my splendor.
Oh and just so you know the little dog is safe since he does not bother me and I may let him blog if I feel like it.

Cards and a present
Okay I was supposed to post this yesterday but mom didn't have the batteries charged for the camera so I couldn't download the pictures. I got her to charge them last night though.
We have gotten a ton of cards. We've tried to visit all the doggies we haven't met yet. This is tons of fun. Mom was going to put them on our wall but every time she tried to tape them up there. They all fell down so right now they are sitting in a pile on top of the microwave. Her and the kids look at the new ones every day. No one but us has gotten any Christmas Cards. haha we are so cool and the rest of the family isn't. We have gotten 41 cards so far.
I also got a present from my lovely Penny. It was a barkday present which her mom sent late. That's okay, I know it wasn't your fault Penny.
I got a lovely collar that mom says compliments my fur really really well.
I also got some treats. Some dehyrated pork hearts, some turkey hearts (which mom seems to have not gotten a picture of) and some chicken treats. We've tried them all and they are good.
Thanks so much Penny I love it all and I did share with Flash.
Here are the treats.
And they are in that box on top of the fridge with the trash can so I can't get to either one of them.
Oh and for every pup that wants to know how to open a fridge. I will hopefully be giving lessons at Butchy and Snickers house at their skating party if we can sneak to their fridge. :)

Misc stuff
I just want to say that yes I ate two loafs of bread and I would do it again. It was good. But I also ate two packages of lunch meat that Flash didn't tell you about. That was even better. Mom says she is surprised I didn't eat the pound of butter but she is sure glad I didn't.
Mom got all our cards out today. She was lazy and I think slightly depressed and didn't get to doing them when she should have but they are all in mail now. We couldn't afford the postage to send to most of our friends overseas so you will all be getting email cards soon.
We thought we would share this picture of our dad and kids that was taken the day before he left.
Then on Saturday there was a Christmas Parade on post through the housing areas. So the kids and Mom went outside and watched. Our girl got all excited when she saw this. It seems our Pappy has this kind of motorcycle (his has two wheels instead of 3 like this one) and our girl would go riding with him on it which is why she was so excited.
There was a helicopter on a trailer, some other less exciting kinds of motorcycles, some firetrucks, and quite a few floats. Our boy liked it all but liked this the best. Oh my goodness it was Santa Paws and Flash and I were stuck in the house. How awful for us. All the people on the floats threw candy and since we live in a tiny little turnout with only 2 duplexes and the only kids there were my two kids and one of the little neighbor boys they all got a ton and I do mean a ton of candy.
Last but certainly not least we wanted to inform you all about these lovely people who go and greet the troops at the airport in Bangor Maine no matter if they are coming or going.
This is posted on their website we think it is worth reading
Welcoming our military passing through Bangor International Airport in Bangor, Maine is a dedicated group of veterans and civilians who gather to honor these troops and show gratitude for their sacrifice and that of their families. Many of the troop greeters began welcoming troops home during Operation Desert Storm in 1991; when troops started arriving home from Bosnia they once again lined the walkway and again when the first flight from Operation Iraqi Freedom returned in May 2003. The Maine Troop Greeters consider it an honor to meet and greet our military troops regardless of the weather or time of night and with thunderous ovations and warm welcoming smiles, have greeted over 400,000 troops. ........................................Local veterans, many of whom know the feeling of returning home to far less than a heroes welcome, surround the troops with goodwill and lighthearted rapport. It is the Troop Greeters mission to make sure that no military person will ever step back onto American soil to an ungrateful nation. These troops have left behind all the comforts of home and most importantly; they have left behind their loved ones. The greeters feel it is an honor and a privilege to welcome them to Bangor, Maine.
Bangor is the last American soil our troops set foot on before going over seas and the first American soil our troops set foot on when returning to the United States. Post 200 has joined with mainetroopgreeters.com to provide a humble thank you to our troops for their sacrifices and those of their families. To date almost half a million troops have passed through Bangor making Post 200's efforts formidable. Anyone wishing to help with this effort may contact Post 200 and any assistance would be very much appreciated by our troops.
We found this picture of our dad on their website. He's the guy in the front of the line there with a shaved head. We found another picture to but he was in the back of the line in that one.
What great people to do this for our troops.
Tomorrow: all the cards we have gotten and a present from Penny.

It's not Friday
but hey it's Flash. I thought I would inform you all of our Friday night and what Peanut did.
Well mom and our girl went over to the neighbors for pizza and our boy was at his friends house spending the night. Well our girl came home to watch Hairspray (it's her new obsession she's watched the new version about 10 times since Friday. Mom did make her watch the first version before she got to watch the new one though. Mom kept mumbling something about seeing the original before a copy) and about 2 seconds later she was back at the neighbors telling mom Peanut was trying to throw up in the house.
Well Peanut has learned how to open the fridge and he had eaten the two loafs of bread in there. Mom went running home and when she got there Peanut's belly was about 4 times it's normal size. Mom was a little worried about bloat but about a minute after she got home Peanut threw up. ON the carpet, no less. Then he started passing gas. He passed gas all night long and threw up one more time, outside this time though. Mom and our girl said they wished they had gas masks because the whole house stunk so bad. Peanut is okay now. We have tape on our fridge so he can't get into it until mom can get a baby latch for the fridge. Just look.
Oh and here is a picture of Peanut sleeping. It makes mom laugh so we are putting it up. Personally I find it kind of creepy. I mean look at his eye. Yuck

I'm being tortured
Someone needs to come rescue me. I am being tortured. My mom has attached a leash to me and won't let it go. I have to go everywhere with her inside the house and she won't let me go anywhere by myself. She says it is because I don't want to behave and have been barking at her nonstop and won't stop trying to get to the cat food and the snacks the cat leaves in the litter box. I say I'm just trying to get her attention and the cat leaves those treat for me.
Here are some pictures of my torture. If anyone has any ideas on how to get this to end let me know. See the leash? I'm sad in this picture. .
And look mom was reading all the blogs so she attached the leash to her foot so her hands were free.
This has been going on since Friday. It is awful, awful, awful.

Dad left today
Well today is a very sad day here in the house. Dad left today to go to Iraq. The kids and Mom are handling it as well as can be expected. Flash and I are very sad also. We will all miss Dad.
I won't have to put up with this anymore. This picture is from just last night in fact.
but I also won't be able to do this
and Flash won't be able to do this
If anyone would be willing to send my dad a christmas card please email me for his address. We think it would be cool for him to get some cards from our friends.
We may not post for a few days but we will be back.
Peanut
update sorry for the confusion as to where my email is located. It is over on the side bar in the about me section.
Thanks everybody

Christmas Cards
We got our first Christmas card yesterday. It was from Comet and Blu and is so cool. They did it by hand and mom says she feels lazy now since she didn't do that.
Mom thought it would be funny to put it on my backside.
Then she hung it on a wall in our living room. She says they are all going to go up there. Comet and Blu are lonely up there right now though.
Our kids kept looking at the picture and saying how much Comet looked like Kiko. They liked that a lot. We can't wait to get more cards and have our friends get ours.

My Birthday
Okay so my birthday was not that exciting. Mom and Dad didn't even give me presents or a cake or anything. No card but they did give me these.
MMMMMM Sardines. I got a whole lb of them all to myself but they made me sit and wait for them just like they do for my food everyday.
Flash is waiting for his dinner to but he didn't get yummy sardines. He got Kibble (which mom was feeding us at grandma careen's because it was easier with her dogs there to and she is still feeding us I think she needs to get back to the raw myself)
Here is me with a sardine. Those suckers are whole ones. They were good good good.
I did get one present though. Grammie sent me this
and of course it has our lovely friend Cubby in it. He's Mr. October.
I can't wait until 2008 so I can use it.

He's Mr. October.

It's another Birthday
but this time it's Peanut. He's 4 today. So I thought for this special day I would humiliate myself by showing you all the pictures of me with antlers on my head. I am going to be nice and not make fun of Peanut also. Our thanksgiving was nice. Peanut and I got to split the turkey neck and the the giblets. They were good.
So on to the pictures. I hope you all enjoy them. Peanut will be back tomorrow to tell you about his birthday.?
Check out that tongue. Nice huh
Look at them aren't they awful?
Here I am totally depressed they are making me wear these things.
and last but not least. I shook one of the antlers totally off the headband. haha serves them right.

Wanted to say
Thanksgiving Myspace Graphics
We hope everyone who celebrates Thanksgiving has a lovely day and for those that don't we hope your day is just as nice. We are spending today with just mom, our kids, and of course Dad. I already helped him load the dishwasher this morning though he didn't seem to appreciate it.
Flash will here tomorrow with a picture of him in Antlers.

a few random things
Here are some pictures of me with the garland mom made me wear for the holiday card picture. Flash has antlers on in the picture so he is worse off then me. I do think Blue might be my color though.
Mom got a new computer. She got a dell laptop. It's green. She's very happy with it. She took some pictures of it on top of Dad's laptop to show everyone the size difference. She thinks dad's is to big but dad says his is perfect for playing the games he likes.
Our friend Marvin. who loves my Grammie, gave us this award.
It's the Be the Blog award which is "This award is presented to a successful blogger, one who can "be the blog" - making it their own, staying with it, interacting with the readers and just plain having fun."
So thanks so much Marvin. We are very honored that you gave us this award. We don't know who hasn't gotten it but we want to give it to everyone we visit. We love you all.
Also just so you all know there was some talk about how young my grammie looked. She gave me permission to say she is in the latter half of her 50's. :) That was my real Grammie since Randi thought I might have posted a picture of an imposter.
And last but not least our friend Cubby was tagged for this game where you open the current book you're reading to page 161 and post to your blog the 6th line, as well as posting that same line as a post in the sender's blog in the form of a comment. We thought we would play. So did Grammie in fact so I am posting her line for her here.
Grammie's book is In the Presence of the Enemy by Elizabeth George. The line is ...laugh at Helen's look of astonishment at his powers of....
Mom's books is Being Committed by Anna Maxted. The line is I returned to the office, apologetic.
If anyone wants to play go right ahead.
Sorry the font is all weird in this post, mom did something to it and can't fix it. I think that is it for now. See you all later.

A Grammie among other things
Hey eveybody it's me Flash. Yep it's Friday and I am back. I know you are all so excited to hear from me.
I want to point out that I think Peanut is a whiner about the size of the yard. I mean yeah it isn't huge but please if he didn't have freakishly long legs the yard size wouldn't be a problem I don't think.
Oh and it's his 4th birthday next week. I am trying to figure out what I am going to do for him. So any ideas would be good. I thought maybe I just wouldn't make fun of him for the day. That seems like a good present don't you think? Now in all seriousness I do love Peanut but geez he's the one always doing stupid stuff like the flour thing and getting in trouble.
Okay since Peanut's been filling you all in on what's been going on here there isn't much else to say but to no further ado here is the picture of our Grammie. This was taken by our girl while she spent the day with Grammie helping her watch our Uncle Sean's girls. Oh and we've also included a picture of our Auntie Shalon that our girl also took. We love you Grammie and Auntie Shalon. You are the best.

Another birthday and what I did
So today is our boy's 7th birthday. It seems like just yesterday I was just a pup and he was 3 and biting me on the ear. :) Here he is with his present from Grammie and Pappy which he opened first thing when he got up this morning.
So mom got rid of our kennels when we moved because they were the big plastic airline kind and she hated them. She is now regretting it. She thought maybe I wouldn't need one as I've been being good when they leave. Well mom went grocery shopping this morning and Dad came home for lunch to this.
Now mom has figured out tupperware containers are not dog proof. I tried to blame it on Flash but dad figured out it was me when he looked at me. Mom says besides Flash isn't tall enough to get on the counters.
So they are going to be buying me a kennel. If anyone knows of a place to get one kind of cheap (really just less expensive then normal) let mom know. They say they don't think Flash needs one though. I beg to differ if I'm in one he should be also.

There is a birthday
Okay so today is our girls 12th birthday. Man she is getting old. Here she is this morning after opening her present from Grammie and Pappy. She was super excited.
So here are the long awaited for pictures of my tiny yard. Now let me tell you I had mom (who is a shorty at 5'3" though not as short as Grammie) see how many steps it took her to walk across the yard. For her to go from the concrete section by the shed, which as you can see has stuff on it, to the end of the fence only took her 12 steps. To go from the house to the fence the other way only took her 6. We are dying here I tell you. As you can see when Flash and I are in the yard together we almost take it up. Plus there is tons of grass all around. If only they would have fenced some of that for us we could have had a huge yard like we did in Kentucky. Mom is finally starting to feel good enough to maybe walk us. She says tomorrow when Dad goes back to work so we will see.
Note for Wally and Stanley: we have found a picture of grammie on our girl's camera as soon as mom finds the cord, we will post the picture.

It is the Soldier, not the minister
Who has given us freedom of religion.
It is the Soldier, not the reporter
Who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the Soldier, not the poet
Who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the Soldier, not the campus organizer
Who has given us freedom to protest.
It is the Soldier, not the lawyer
Who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It is the Soldier, not the politician
Who has given us the right to vote.
It is the Soldier who salutes the flag,
Who serves beneath the flag,
And whose coffin is draped by the flag,
Who allows the protester to burn the flag.
